Biography:  I first became a parent governor when my eldest of two daughters joined Leckhampton Primary in 2002. I moved up, as she did, to Chosen Hill as an appointed governor in 2011 around the time the school was converting to an academy an exciting time for us in finance! I am a qualified accountant and finance director acting in both small start-ups and larger national companies mainly in the retail and leisure sectors. Being a governor has given me a great understanding of the pressures the teaching profession has to bear, a fact that I think I didn’t fully appreciate before becoming a governor. I have almost always concentrated on the resources and finance and budgeting side of the school, where my strengths lie, but I also take an interest HR, Health & Safety and property matters. During my time as a governor I have been involved in two head teacher recruitments and two OFSTED inspections great new experience for me personally but also successful for the school’s involved. I’m approaching the end of my 2 term (8 year) maximum as a governor and I will certainly miss my involvement with CHS.

Biography:  My professional background is in sport and education, having worked across the sectors for 20 years. In a previous public sector role I led policy and investment for young people and sport nationally working closely with Government. I have worked with a range of schools nationally and more closely with a number of schools in Gloucestershire. My sporting roles included working for a large national sport based charity and as Chief Officer of a National Governing Body of Sport (NGB) and Vice-Chair of a different NGB.

At Chosen Hill I have sat on all committees in my time and currently chair the Learning & Outcomes committee. I was also involved in the recent Ofsted inspection.

Biography:  I have two children at Chosen Hill (Year 7 and Year 9). I live in Churchdown close to the school. I am a Christian and member of a Baptist Church in Cheltenham, where I help with the children’s work.

I work in higher education in Gloucester for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) as the Planning and Management Accountant (I am a fully qualified Accountant), where I have worked for 18 years. Here I am currently responsible for the preparation and monitoring (operational performance) of the Annual Plan, which seeks to deliver the Strategic Plan, as well as overseeing the production of Annual Budgets and the monitoring of these. Reporting internally and to the Board of Directors.
